For all of you who continually battle slugs and snails there is hope (on the West Coast anyway). The slim, trim Snail-Killer Carabid (Scaphinotus angusticollis) is especially adapted to get right in snail shells to dispatch the snail and it also eats banana slugs. Quite a nice looking beetle with it’s reddish coloured stream lined body.
Well, after destroying our gunnera, the buck was back yesterday attacking our bay laurel bush. It was actually charging the tree and ripping branches off. I had to escort him off the property.
The buck comes pre-seasoned with bay leaves – all we need now is the stew pot!
After a night of heavy fog, yesterday morning was beautiful and the spider webs were laden with moisture.
I took these on my 7 minute walk to work – grooming my trails.
Spider webs on the power lines
Huckleberry bush all ready for Halloween
I did a post sometime back on Giant Hogweed but found these last night when doing my old negative scans. Not a popular plant around here but still quite spectacular. I was actually standing under the plant and shooting upwards to take these photos.
