One of our first Spring flowers
Old deer vertebrae found in the forest
Our pair of resident ravens have been working on their nest just behind our house. This is a mixed blessing – always great to watch nature at work but then there is knowing we have a noisy Spring and Summer ahead as the chicks learn to vocalize from dawn to dusk.
Here is one of the younger bucks that hang around the yard. This year he had his first antlers, one straight piece with no branches (points). This didn’t stop him from having mock battles with other older bucks and things obviously got out of hand. The ear has healed well, doesn’t seem to cause him any discomfort and he is one of the friendliest of the lot.
