How utterly beautiful to the very end! I happened to notice a hydrangea in town today that had turned a rather unflattering brown. A different variety I suspect.
Our hydrangea were a little confused this Summer due to the extreme heat early on. It seemed to delay the blooming so we got this late showing. Parts of the bush are brown – this branch however persevered.
And yet that branch persevered… in an odd way that could be the theme for these past couple of years ‘as we weathered the storms’.
More terrific images, Kenneth. I have a Campanula – Bellflower – in a pot that won’t quit but I did leave it outside so it must be frozen now. I hope it recovers in the spring. I bet the Hydrangeas looked nice with the snow on them, too.
So beautiful! I always used to dry them in the summer and add them to my dried flower wreathes…
Thanks Anna. Yes, we dry the too.

Thanks Lynn. Wow, Campanulas – they always appear to be quite delicate. Their root system should survive.
