Smoked Sun (2 photos)

The sky had a yellow tinge this morning but most of the smoke had blown away by this afternoon. The forest fire tripled in size since Saturday and is now 250 hectares (618 acres). There was an evacuation for 21 houses tonight as a preventative measure but the fire is still moving away from us and the town of Sechelt.

  1. I’m always conflicted about the great sunsets fires create, but the destruction hardly seems worth it. Hoping they do get that fire under control soon. It’s comforting to know that it’s not heading your way, but there’s that nagging worry about winds shifting.

  2. I’m glad it moved away, I was wondering about it. Our skies weren’t orange but we had serious haze for a few days from those fires in BC. I’m glad you were able to take photographic advantage of the situation; that second shot is beautiful!
