  1. When my kids and I go for a bike ride on the trails in the woods, the person in front is on slug duty. That means that you have to yell “Slug to the right!” or “Slug to the left!” or “Slug centre!” so we don’t run over them 🙂

  2. I’ve seen larger ones up here. I’m not sure if they’re the exact same critters, but they call them banana slugs… some are a slightly more yellow shade than the one in your shot. But we also have the same ones you posted. The very first month we lived here in the Pacific NW, I opened the front door and there was one of the HUGE ones sliming it’s way up. I have to say it was a bit unsettling. Since then, I’ve learned to tolerate them to some degree. 😉

    • I’m pretty sure we share the same types of Cascadian slugs 😉 This was a moderately sized one. I usually tolerate them though I have an imaginary border between the forest and the garden that the slugs aren’t allowed to cross.
